For 3.2 billion dollars. Shows the power of marketing. Also, its probably for the music streaming platform, because the hardware really sucks to be honest.

Some of the worst headphones in their price ranges that I have ever used.

Is this confirmed? I thought it was a rumor.

The story of Monster/Beats is really interesting. Dre is OG and don't you forget it.

They are nice $50 headphones.

Oh sorry, I was talking about the high end ones. A friend of mine got them (Studios, I think they're called, the noise-cancelling full size over-ear models) and we both compared them to my Bose QC15s and they were honestly laughable.

We're on the same page I meant that they are worth ~$50.
Anyways they aren't made for listening to music on.

Weirdest news ever.

Apple's ear pods (the newer ones that shipped with the iPhone 5, I think) rated higher than Beats.
Shows the power of marketing, for sure.

I really don't know why they did this. Awhile back, Apple was supposed to partner with Bang & Olufsen for the original iPod. That would of been awesome.

Over on Gizmodo people were defending these headphones. It was audiophiles vs everybody else. This was my reply.
You know those kids? You know.. The ones that put a system in their car? For you only to later learn that this "system" is a 15" bandpass box and a 300w amp?
A couple of wire nuts and un-fused links later.... and they have the most trunk-poppin, window-rattling, car in the high school parking lot.
They didn't update anything else and the factory GM radio and speakers are still in their Sunfire.

These are Beats customers.
Just stop sticking up for Beats, folks. They aren't that good for what they're charging for them.
